I was happy to see “Evoking the Deep” show up in my email, Scott, and your poem deeply tugs at the heart, expressing the ache when departing is inevitable…beautiful comeback!
For some reason I focused only on the departing, but the thirst emotion is beautiful, too, Scott, and can’t be denied when two lovers part…(I had to add this :))
You succeeded! I spent a year reading and writing haiku poems. Amazing how a few words can capture the essence of so much. Keep on with your poignant writing please. 🙂
Thanks Lydie! I really feel I’ll be inspired soon to write much more. I’ve been kinda focused on some other art forms recently, but my love for poetry never ceases
My gosh Scott.. This is.. amazing.. I missed your writing since school and graduation and then new job has been kicking my tooshie. But i’m back now. And as always i just love your words.. 🙂
Hey love, nice to see you posting again although I’ve been away too but this was nice to come back to! Words have the power to spark the imagination and fuel the desires of the heart. Hugs.
It’s gone by way too fast for me as well. It started nicely and now just feels like I want to hibernate until next summer 🙂
I don’t like winter much lol
Thanks! Yes, the last line is the main point and I’m glad you mentioned it. The poet isn’t sure if he should pursue or let her walk away. (I believe he pursued, but that’s a different story) 😀
Thanks Blubarz! I’ve been wanting to get better at capturing scenes with only a few words that everyone can understand and even relate to the moment. I’m still working on it 🙂
Haha, good observation and question Shian. Probably more in lust and questioning what he should do at that point (and not wanting to show his thoughts to her.) Thanks so much!

Thank you Brenda! I’ve always thought about how I’d like to say big things with few words, but haven’t given much effort to trying it until now.
