Thanks! It was my first Haiku. I analyzed some on the site of LScott Poetry until I felt ready to write one and it just came out as what you see here 🙂
For more (and better) Haikus, as well as awesome poetry, visit her at: http://lscotthoughts.com/
Scott, this is absolutely beautiful…your words, the perfect image and so many meanings in these few syllables; an awesome first haiku and I can’t wait for more from you! And you completely caught me off guard by paying me this HUGE complement! Thank you so much! I am no expert on any type of writing, let alone haiku, and to think you were analyzing mine? Wow, I’m stunned and honored…big hugs and thank you again, my friend! xx
Hey Lauren, it’s comment catch up day for me 😀
Thanks for always being here commenting and for sharing your own amazing work/heart always on your blog. Stay blessed forever
How do I begin to apologise for my silence…. ‘Don’t think I have done much reading in a while either 😦
I have A LOT of catching up to do….. but I guess this is a start 🙂
Hey, life happens and we get busy. Very understandable and the same happens to me too often 🙂
I’m doing very well, thanks. I hope you are well and always hope to see you writing again!
I just think it’s beautiful and the photo is so pretty too – I love it that we’re not sure if anybody writes romantic haikus, why not? I say. Have you seen the Spanish form called Shadorma? Stanza’s of six lines (sestets) with no set rhyme scheme. Thought to be a variation of haiku, which is clear from its syllable pattern – you’re good at this Scott, take a look at the Shadorma 🙂
Just passing along this info to all my ABC Award nominees..….I think it’s a great idea, I have already joined! See you there!

Thanks Shian! Yes, spring time. I was thinking about human natures and spring time while having lunch. Maybe this is why I feel like writing something new every hour (but been resisting)

Hi Scott, I learnt of your blog from GG’s Blog: http://gagangupt16.wordpress.com/. You are in his, “About Some of the Fantastic blogs I have came across…” He wasn’t kidding. My, this poem is beautiful! I’m looking forward to reading more of your poetry.
The last line evoked so many thoughts with me (I guess that’s why the site is called ‘evoking the deep’). The wings could be golden, platinum, magical – instead they are bronzed. I wonder if it’s a literal image or if the poem hints of greater things to come from the newly emerged creature familiarizing itself with the world.
For me it meant a few things. Even literally bronzed 🙂
