A crackle of thunder in my chest
then all is calm
Dark clouds in the sky confess
no sparkle in my night
–
Memories strike like bolts of light
as dry eyes gaze into nowhere
Alone to behold this storm tonight
and I welcome the rain
–
I once believed a rainbow grew
between two hearts
But in the light I finally knew
the pot of gold, a myth
–
Not even time to just ask why
sitting in awe
Three simple words, ok then, bye
all I had now gone
–
Believing in a deep blue sea
and a promised endless journey
Now a shallow puddle of irony
and an artless good bye

Brother Scott…. I am very deeply impressed. I’ve read a lot. No qualifications. A lot for over 50 years. And this is excellent. Being an emotional sort, I was greatly moved by the journey from first stanza to last, and the last two are particularly powerful, for me almost deja vu of feelings I’ve experienced in the same situation. Very, very good work. I’m glad I get notified when you post; I wouldn’t want to miss any others you create….. thanks! Seriously, one of the best I’ve ever seen, almost Dickinsonian (Emily, that is). And I’m a tough sell…. take care….

Scott what i love about you, when you write you lay all of your emotions out there for the world to see! That really has a strong soothing effect on moving away from the pain and hurt that you felt…put the others one’s out there, because what you share a lot of have gone through and many have yet to really go through it.
