Moonlight Memory

I've looked out at a seemingly endless ocean
I felt the warm and soothing wind bringing in the scent
of a moonlight blessed sea
I sat next to my dreams and witnessed a certainty
I wrote a promise there and handed it to my hope
I remember every heart beat of the moonlight moment

I walk, look upward, and reach for yesterday
I can't smile back at that white globe
Regret has found it's fool on this night
Two beautiful eyes fade in the horizon
A memory seemingly now where sea meets sky
