I wake up cold and sweaty
with a feeling that I need you
I only wish that I was holding you
and showing all my love is true
Yes I do
need you
I’m getting tired of this distance
without you here I can’t be me
In my prayers I’m always wishing
for an end to all this mystery
Can’t you see?
I’m not complete
I’m walking in the cold snow
one set of footprints, not enough
Looking back, I want to see you
and I’ll wait for you to catch up
Is that too much?
More than a crush
I want to feel you on my shoulders
as this eagle soars above tonight
We can cross the sea together
I’ll protect your heart, my fragile butterfly
Look into my eyes
I’ll melt the ice
This distance has to end soon
and this warrior needs a new start
I promise my sword will never get dull
because you are the sheath of my heart
Promise you’ll be mine,
my Valentine
~

Aww, thanks Cha. When I was writing it, I was writing it to the rhythm of that song. When I read it without that rhythm it’s not as good, lol. But, lots of heart in it

I have wrote poems in the past and I can see that u have a strong heart for them, this poem has a sad story behind it but let me suggest one thing you said in the poem “I’m walking in the cold snow one set of footprints is not enough”. But it is when it is the Lords footprints that are the ones in the snow, and he is carrying you through your troubled times.
February 20th, 2012 at 12:25 pm
Thanks so much for the comment and that’s a great way to look at it. Especially as our goal is to keep God at the center and carry us to our goals.

Beautifully written. But always remember, no matter how much you love and cherish someone, it is not them that completes you. You complete you. And it’s a complete you that others fall in love with.
Peace & grace,

I totally agree with Miro.. you complete you. You have to complete you in order to be something to someone else. This was beautiful written.. you have an amazing gift
February 20th, 2012 at 12:11 pm
Thanks so much Kay and I even agree with that. I often write from my own human conditions though in moments of deep thought and/or feeling of need. I think the best relationships are 2 coming together that feel complete themselves, but sharing each other’s lives. For how to perceive everything, well, I’m still working to be better with it
February 17th, 2012 at 4:30 am

Hi Scott,
Your poems are so lovely, and the addition of pictures provides vividness.
Frankly, what holds me back from subscribing is the pictures which suggest the erotic theme and this theme puts me off. Sorry for being so candid.
I extremely appreciate your work!
February 23rd, 2012 at 8:35 am
Thanks for your comments Romi! Sorry if anything feels offensive on the blog, but I’ve tried to find a “medium” so to speak. Feel free to help me in an email explaining which pictures put you off so I could consider that for new postings.

This is actually my favorite song! I used to listen to it the whole time in the bus while going to school. I just started using a bus last year, it killed me by how uncomfortable it was, but this song would always take me far away from life, even the uncomfortable bus seats [:
April 10th, 2012 at 1:53 pm
“Hey There Delilah” really is a good song. Very beautifully composed and the lyrics feel so poetic to me.
As for my poem, I imagined my words to the beat of the music for that song. I have several crazy writing strategies
Thanks so much for stopping by and commenting. Blessings always
